For the first time, we are taking our 'How to Write about Contemporary Art’ course to Tokyo. In this free public lecture, Frieze's Editorial Director, Jennifer Higgie, will give her insights into writing about art for journalists, critics, bloggers or anyone interested in getting practical and inspiring advice.

Subjects will include:

  • Who are you writing for?
  • The different styles of art criticism
  • Practical advice on becoming an art writer, from how to pitch, to what you can expect from the editing process and how much you should be paid

The lecture will be conducted in English via skype and translated into Japanese by Eri Kawade.

All welcome. Free admission. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis (seating capacity: approx. 260). Lecture Room 5-109, 5th Building, Department of Music, Ueno Campus at Tokyo University of the Arts.
