Explore contemporary art through the prism of history with this full day’s art tour. From Mark Wallinger's sculptures at Magdalen College to Jenny Holzer's latest show with night-time projections at Blenheim Palace, this curated art tour will include private tours of the Ashmolean Museum and Modern Art Oxford, as well as lunch and supper.

The day will start in Oxford at 11.30am and include the following:

  • Meeting at Porter’s Lodge at Magdalen College with independent producer-curator Paul Bonaventura for a tour of Turner Prize winning artist Mark Wallinger’s sculpture in the grounds of the college
  • Lunch at 5-star The Randolph
  • Private tours of The Ashmolean Museum and Modern Art Oxford with Modern Art Oxford’s Director, Paul Hobson
  • From Oxford, travel to Blenheim Palace, for Jenny Holzer’s newest exhibition which includes augmented reality, as well as a viewing of her new site-specific projections. The themes of her work - power, conflict and activism, present since she came to prominence in the 1980's - will be viewed in juxtaposition with the military and political history of Blenheim palace
  • Intimate supper in nearby Woodstock
  • Return to Blenheim Palace after dark, for a night-time light projections by Jenny Holzer
  • 8pm: Return to Oxford station for those traveling by train

What’s included
The price includes lunch at a 5-star hotel; an intimate supper; all admissions and Director and Curator-led tours; and travel between venues.

Access
Transport between venues will be arranged.
