For an afternoon of gentle research, check out the shelves at 192 Books - one of Kimberly Drew’s top independent bookstores in the city. The location is perfect for heading later to tonight's Chelsea openings - which includes a look at the career of the late concrete poet and Benedictine monk, Dom Sylvester Houedard at Lisson Gallery, and ‘Concerning Vietnam’, a new solo show by Matthew Brannon at Casey Kaplan; Brannon premieres more new works from the series at the gallery's booth at Frieze New York.

Let the end of the evening sizzle with a ticket to Ballroom Marfa First Annual Spring Fundraiser, in collaboration with Frieze New York and eBay at the Hôtel Americano. Held on the hotel’s stunning rooftop, the evening features artist Eduardo Sarabia's infamous tequila bar installation, Salon Aleman, and a performance by Los Master Plus of Guadalajara, MX. Ticket proceeds benefit Ballroom Marfa’s non-profit program, which is committed to exploring perspectives and issues through visual arts, film, music, and performance, and are available online.

Frieze New York 2018 runs May 3-6.
