Mount Street Editions by Frieze Supports Women Artists and Womens’ Charities

Max Mara-winner Helen Cammock joins France-Lise McGurn, Renee So and Zadie Xa in producing charitable limited editions

Four leading UK-based women artists have been commissioned by Mount Street and Frieze to produce limited edition art works which will be available for sale exclusively over four days from a customised vehicle positioned on Mount Street in London’s Mayfair.

The collaboration, Mount Street Editions by Frieze, is inspired by the fair’s new Social Work section, which celebrates artists who challenged the male-dominated art market of the 1980s.

Released for sale during Frieze Week (3rd – 7th October, 2018), the artists selected to create editions are: Helen Cammock, winner of the 2018 MaxMara Prize for Women’s Art; France-Lise McGurn, whose epic wall painting was a standout of the recent Virginia Woolf exhibition at Tate St Ives; Renee So, acclaimed for her knitted and ceramic works investigating hybrid identities; and Zadie Xa, whose work is currently on view at MoMA PS1 and who will have a solo presentation in Focus at Frieze London 2018.

All proceeds raised from the editions will be donated to two charities providing vital support to women in the UK: Dress for Success, which empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life; and the Young Women’s Trust, which supports women aged 16-30 struggling to live on low or no pay in England and Wales and who are at risk of being trapped in poverty. 

The editions will be released over four consecutive days (one day per artist), concurrent with Frieze London and Frieze Masters. Each unique, signed edition will be unveiled ahead of the pop-up, with the location and timings of the Mount Street Editions vehicle to be revealed on Frieze London’s social media channels in advance. Printed by Mount Street Printers, expert purveyors of luxury personalised stationary, the works will be released in an edition of 100.

Frieze Week 2018, takes place from 5–7 October, with two Preview Days on Wednesday 3 October and Thursday 4 October. Mount Street is an official partner of Frieze London.
