Welcome to Saturday at Frieze New York! The fair is open to the general public today, from 11am–6pm. If you haven’t got your ticket yet, you can purchase one here

The day kicks off on the Upper East Side, with galleries, including Boers-Li Gallery, Craig F. Starr Gallery, Henrique Faria Fine Art, Leila Heller Gallery and Richard Gray Gallery hosting special morning viewings for Frieze audiences from 10am. 

Over on Randall’s Island, the talks programme continues, with Aruna D’Souza in conversation with Nico Wheadon and Sable Elyse Smith at 12.30pm and Andrew Durbin in conversation with T.J. Wilcox at 3pm.

Explore the fair's celebrated Frame section, for ambitious solo projects by emerging artists including Olivia Erlanger's surreal mermaid sculptures (And Now) and Yanyan Huang's total installation at Bank, which the artist describes as an "immersive portal into an unknown universe".

Discover a whole world of art in The Doors of Perception, the fair's new exhibition presented in collaboration with the Outsider Art Fair. Artist Javier Téllez has chosen more than 300 works by visionary self-taught artists working at the margins of society, and all pieces are for sale.

Need a break? Head outside for a beer and one of Roberta's famous pizzas, followed by Morgenstern's ice cream.

The MATCHESFASHION.COM Lounge is hosting a programme of fashion-themed talks. At 2pm join Richard Meyer, academic and author of Art & Queer Culture, and a panel of artists featured among the pages of his celebrated title as they discuss the relationship between the visual arts and gender and sexuality.In the afternoon, be sure to catch a live discussion about the convergence of the contemporary art world and dance.

Commonwealth & Council, Diálagos, Frieze New York 2019

Head towards the North of the fair to visit Diálogos, a themed section focusing on art by contemporary Latinx and Latin American artists. Don’t miss Mariela Scafati’s presentation at Isla Flotante, whose installations of paintings push boundaries. Also on view is Rubén Ortiz Torres in the Royale Projects booth, whose work adapts the aesthetics of lowrider culture to minimal and conceptual art.

Just Above Midtown (JAM),a new section for this year’s Frieze New York, will be open to all visitors today. The section includes gallery-led tributes to Linda Goode Bryant's pioneering New York arts organization and will feature solo presentations of artists from Bryant’s original programming, through the support of invited galleries. Highlights include Rena Bransten Gallery & Stephen Daiter Gallery presenting Dawoud Bey, Thomas Erben Gallery, Lévy Gorvt & Sprüth Magers presenting Senga Nengudi, and Garth Greenan presenting Howardena Pindell and much more.

Frieze Sculpture continues in Rockefeller Center today. featuring 14 international artists, the programme includes exceptional public art from leading artists including Joan Miró, Paulo Nazareth, Pedro Reyes, Kiki Smith, and Hank Willis Thomas.
