Liliane Lijn

lives in London, UK. In 2012, her work was included in ‘Ecstatic Alphabets/Heaps of Language’, MOMA, New York, USA, and she had a solo exhibition at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, UK. In 2013, Lijn was shortlisted for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, London; received a Jerwood Commission to broadcast her 1983 book, Crossing Map, on Resonance FM; and her exhibition ‘Earth Body Art’ was held at Museo Civico di Santa Croce, Umbertide, Italy. This year, her work has been included in shows at The Arts Catalyst, Bargehouse, London, and Christie’s, London. Spinning Dolls (2014), will be permanently installed in July at Museo della Canapa, Sant’Anatolia di Narco, Italy. Her work will also be included in ‘Caritas. Stories, Paraboles and Dreams’, at Musée de Picardie, Amiens, France, from 10 October – 18 January 2015. An edition of Lijn’s 1970 word game, Poem Power Game Oracle, is published by Dark Matter Studio.
