12.30pm - Art Assassins & Network 11

Frieze Projects collaborates with the Art Assassins and Network 11 from September to November for the Frieze Project Operndorf Afrika (Opera Village Africa). Together they are investigating the impact Operndorf Afrika has on post-colonial Burkina Faso and consider the impact these cultural encounters have on its future.

On Saturday at 12.30pm they present 'Sonorous' - an improvised sound performance which marks the culmination of their research.

The Art Assassins are a group of diverse young beings who meet every Tuesday, at the South London Gallery. Network 11 are an artist collective based in London.

2.30pm - Sleek

In conversation with Auto Italia South East on Art Collectives, Artist-run spaces and the London scene.

Auto Italia is a London-based collective, consisting of Marleen Boschen, Kate Cooper, Marianne Forrest and Ed Gillman. Their practice interweaves questions surrounding digital aesthetics and consumer manipulation. But Auto Italia is also a physical space, run out of an old garage in East London, where they show fellow artists and collaborators – most recently, Metahaven. Together with Sleek’s Editor in Chief, Dr. Jeni Fulton, they explore questions of collaborative art practice in contemporaneity and London’s viability as an artist city post Brexit.

3.30pm - frieze magazine: 25 Years of Frieze

On the occasion of the launch of the Phaidon book Frieze A-Z of Contemporary Art, co-editors Dan Fox and Jörg Heiser discuss the 25th anniversary of Frieze, and the changing nature of art magazines since the 1990s.
