In his third solo show at Stevenson, Robin Rhode presents new and recent drawings, photographs, video and objects exploring his relationship to the landscape and the legacy of Arte Povera. Choreographed motion – whether that of trees in the wind, gestures dictated by colour theory or Rhode’s own hand – leads to stylized imagery which oddly finds something very formal in a movement that was anti-form.
