Group presentation, H7
COOPER COLE presents a group show of work by four emerging artists consisting of suspended sculpture, floor sculpture, and mixed media photography. All the artists have shared approaches to landscape, environments and found objects. Their practices are informed by similar themes that explore measurements in time, influences in geography and limitations in space.
Georgia Dickie (Toronto, Canada, 1989,) addresses the complexities of contemporary object-based practice and is deeply interested in found materials and their inherent limitations. Ryan Foerster (Newmarket, Canada, 1983) is a mixed media artist working primarily in photography with an interest in the evolution and decay caused by the effects of time, weather and other organic processes. Kate Newby (Auckland, New Zealand, 1979) creates work that explores the limits of sculpture both as a spatial entity and process. Andrea Pinheiro (Kingston, Canada, 1982) works in a variety of media including photography, print, paint, and sculpture. Her images often incorporate landscape and compress painting, mineral collage, and photography into a single frame.
