Hervé Télémaque

Paul Coulon, London (H4)

For its first participation at Frieze Masters 2019, Paul Coulon presents a selection of early paintings and works on paper by Haitian born artist Hervé Télémaque (b. 1937, Port-au-Prince).

The presentation brings together a group of 1970s works on paper never exhibited before which he realised returning from a trip in Haiti in 1973. Also on show, three iconic paintings, Banania III (1964) which marks the beginning of his interest in pop art; L’Enfant Voit Rouge (1966) an example of Télémaque’s series of combine paintings and Untitled (1960), an oil painting from his New York period.
