Insituto de Visión, Bogotá (H21)
Instituto de Visión presents the works of Mandy El-Sayegh (b. 1985, Selango).
The exhibied works address ideas of personal symbology, micro cosmos, language, displacement, body and self-recognition. The works overflow the pictorial surface with strategies involving unique semiotics that generate emotional and mental fields in the viewer and that cause the artwork to extend beyond its physical space. El-Sayegh develops work from historical anecdotes, in response to her relationship with displacement and the denationalization of Palestine.
