Misako & Rosen will present the work of three artists who are among the earliest members of the gallery programme: Maya Hewitt, Naotaka Hiro and Fergus Feehily. The presentation considers the anxiety foundational to the practice and resulting aesthetic of these three artists and is inspired by two of the gallery’s ongoing group exhibitions, ‘The Happy Mind’ (which has featured both Hiro and Hewitt) and ‘Here's Why Patterns’ (which has featured Feehily). A common thread throughout the two shows is the challenging nature of the exhibited work. In spite of their perhaps initially disarming surface, these three distinct bodies of work throw any fixed sense of representational clarity into question.

Maya Hewitt (London, UK 1981) lives and works in London, UK. Naotaka Hiro (Osaka, Japan, 1972) lives and works in Los Angeles, US. Fergus Feehily (Dublin, Ireland, 1968) lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
