Anglim Gilbert Gallery proposes a solo presentation of conceptual artist Paul Kos (born 1942) featuring sculptural and video works alongside conceptual drawings and photographs dating from 1968 to the 1990’s.Raised in Wyoming in a Slovenian community, he attended the San Francisco Art Institute receiving both BA and MFA degrees.

Soon after he was central to the Bay Area Conceptual artists, working in a materials-based practice bringing together imagery of landscape with precepts of socialist ideals and the Everyman.Kos was influential to many students at the SF Art Institute and was a core figure in its development, laying the groundwork for the SFAI program New Genres which spawned  new generations of performance, video and conceptual artists.
