Southard Reid presents a group installation with new and recent work by Hany Armanious, Neal Jones, Joanna Piotrowska and Prem Sahib.
Working across photography, painting, sculpture and furniture making, the artists reference or evoke association with notions of home and domestic spaces. Framed by Jones's table, chairs and makeshift kitchen bench, the stand is sited as part domestic interior, shelter and retreat, decorated and utilitarian, arranged for both comfort and display.
Hany Armanious (Ismailia, Egypt, 1962) lives and works in Sydney, Australia. He has exhibited widely throughout Australia, Europe and the US over the past two decades, including representing Australia in the 2011 Venice Biennale, Italy, with his exhibition ‘The Golden Thread’, which later toured to MUMA, Melbourne, Australia. Other solo exhibitions include ‘Frequently Asked Questions’, Southard Reid, London, UK, ‘Hollow Earth’ Michael Lett, Auckland, New Zealand and a Pavilion sculpture commission for City of Sydney, Australia.
Neal Jones (Liverpool, UK, 1969) lives and works in London.
