HISTORY

Since 1998, TARO NASU has represented both Japanese and international artists. The gallery was originally based in the Shokuryo Building, creating the new tide among Japanese contemporary art scene together with neighbor galleries.
In 2003 TARO NASU moved to a new space in Roppongi. From 2006 to 2009, TARO NASU opened a project space in Osaka, Japan. The interior of the space was designed by Jun Aoki, one of Japanese most famous architects. In 2008, TARO NASU moved to Bakuro-cho, downtown area evolving as a new cultural area in Tokyo. This space was also designed by Jun Aoki. And in 2019, TARO NASU back to Roppongi and open a new space designed by Japanese Architects studio, Mount Fuji Architects.
TARO NASU hopes to continue featuring artists who will continue to resonage and radiate – even in this age of excess – well into the future, introducing the contemporary art as ‘the very intriguing experience.’
