How many people attend the fair and who are they?
Each year, we have over 90,000 visitors to Frieze London and Frieze Masters combined. These visitors include those with an interest in the art world, such as curators, artists, collectors, gallerists and critics, as well as the general public. Some visit as first-time collectors of art whilst others view the fair more as an exhibition, enjoying the experience as a cultural day out.
What makes Frieze London and Frieze Masters different from other art fairs?
Flagship of Frieze Fairs, Frieze London champions radical ideas and new voices in contemporary art. We encourage ambitious proposals from commercial galleries showing an international programme of artists and presenting a regular programme of exhibitions.
Offering a unique perspective, Frieze Masters is considered by institutional and private collections as a trusted place for major acquisitions of defining works from art history. We welcome thoughtful proposals from galleries showing art ranging from Ancient to global cultural Classics, European ‘old master’ works and art of the 20th century. Works shown must be made before the year 2000, or 2010 if the artist was born before 1950.

What is Spotlight?
Spotlight, curated by Valerie Cassel Oliver (Lewis Family Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts), is a section for solo presentations of artists working in the 20th century with a special focus on under-appreciated work from the mid-century dating between the period of 1950-1970's. Spotlight will explore unexpected positions, new research into overlooked figures from across the world, and significant early work from established artists.
What is Studio?
Studio, curated by Sheena Wagstaff (Chair Emerita, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) and Margrethe Troensegaard (Assistant Curator), invokes a place of making in which an artist’s sense of the historical past lights a spark of invention that manifests as an object for the future. The 2024 lineup featured solo presentations by major international figures: Beatrice Caracciolo (Paula Cooper Gallery), Isabella Ducrot (Sadie Coles HQ, Galerie Gisela Capitain, Standard (Oslo)), Nathalie Du Pasquier (Pace Gallery), Shirazeh Houshiary (Lisson Gallery), Kim Yun Shin (Lehmann Maupin), Mernet Larsen (James Cohan), Thaddeus Mosley (Karma), Doris Salcedo(White Cube), Nilima Sheikh (Chemould Prescott Road) and Adriana Varejão (Victoria Miro).
