Artist and gallerist Takashi Murakami talks about his relationship with the late American art dealer Hudson, to whom tribute is paid in the theme section For Your Infotainment / Hudson and Feature Inc, curated at Frieze New York 2018 by Matthew Higgs. Founder of the gallery Feature Inc, Hudson pioneered the US careers of many major contemporary artists.

For the booth of Gagosian Gallery, Murakami is showing never before seen sketches for his first freestanding sculpture, which he would fax to Hudson for feedback - as well as the series of sculptures that grew out of those plans, and a dramatic painted backdrop. Other solo presentations in the section include Raymond Pettibon, Andrew Masullo, and Tony Tasset.

Frieze New York takes place May 3—6. Tickets are available online
