Born and raised in Lugano, Switzerland, Mimma Viglezio read Italian and English literature at Geneva University.
She held executive positions at Bulgari, LVMH and Kering (previously Gucci Group) for more than 20 years before pursuing an independent career. She currently advises companies, designers, boards and CEOs on a free-lance basis on matters related to organisation, strategy, product and communications, with a particular emphasis on young designers and nascent to be launched brands.
She is an advisor of the Board of Modern Meadow, a biotechnological company for the creation of bio-fabricated materials, and she helped the launch of ZOA, the first bio fabricated leather; VillageLux, a US based technological peer to peer company named ‘The AirBnB of wardrobes and Cocoon.club, the London based “Netflix of Bags”, a subscription service for luxury bags.
She is a Member of the Board of BirdSong, an East London sustainable fashion brand.
She is a Trustee of the Swarovski Foundation, an advisor of The Fund For Global Human Rights and a Member of the Leadership Committee of Women for Women UK.
She is a regular Contributing Editor of SHOWstudio, Nick Knight’s digital platform (www.showstudio.com), a presenter and a broadcaster, she hosts conferences and speeches and writes for several publications.
Mimma is fluent in Italian, French, English and spoken Spanish. She speaks some German and studies Mandarin. She lives and works in London.
