Established in the art market as one of the most important national galleries, Almeida e Dale has been operating in the secondary market for Brazilian and international art for over 20 years. Under the direction of Ana Dale, Carlos Dale Junior, and Antonio Almeida, it has already placed, in the most important collections in the country, significant works by modern and contemporary artists such as Candido Portinari, Di Cavalcanti, Cicero Dias, Beatriz Milhazes, Cildo Meireles, Adriana Varejão, Mestre Didi and much more.
In its generous space in the Jardim Paulista neighborhood, since 2012, the gallery has held individual exhibitions based on a careful and extensive historical research work, carried out by partner curators around singular artists, of extreme importance for the history of Brazilian art. They are samples of weight and museological relevance, from names like Botero (2012), Aldo Bonadei (2013), Alfredo Volpi (2014), Candido Portinari (2015), Ismael Nery (2015), Di Cavalcanti (2016), Vicente do Rego Monteiro (2017), Pancetti (2017), Flavio de Carvalho (2019) and Burle Marx (2020). In 2018, it presented Mestre Didi's legacy and organized an extensive retrospective of Milton Dacosta. For all these exhibitions, the gallery has the generosity of countless private collectors, since not all the works on display are offered for sale.
The Almeida e Dale Art Gallery also supports institutional projects, which aim to promote great names in Brazilian art in the country and abroad. In this context, in 2016, in London, it held an individual exhibition by Alfredo Volpi in partnership with Galeria Cecilia Brunson Projects. In 2018, it supported new exhibitions by the modernist artist, being a retrospective at the National Museum of Monaco and another at the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia.
The gallery also sponsors projects that aim to conserve and catalog works by great names in Brazilian art, like the example of Ceará's Antonio Bandeira and Sergipe's Bishop of Rosario. Still in the production phase, both artists should have their trajectories celebrated through raisonné catalogs, financed in part by Almeida and Dale's initiative.
Still, concerning its institutional relationship in the field of art and culture, the gallery regularly donates works from its collection to museums and institutions such as the São Paulo Art Museum Assis Chateaubriand (Masp) and the Museu de Arte de do River Sea). Since 2019 he has supported the Museu da República and its exhibitions by Brazilian artists.
One of Almeida & Dale's guiding principles is the dissemination of works by Brazilian artists and their eventual introduction into the international art market. That is why Almeida e Dale has participating in so many art fairs abroad a making so many connections with international collectors.
