Established in 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Saskia Fernando Gallery specializes in contemporary Sri Lankan art. It is a leading representative of artists' critical work across various platforms, including international exhibitions, gallery collaborations, public talks and fundraisers. Saskia Fernando Gallery works with leading and emerging artists predominantly of Sri Lankan origin and/or those engaged with the countries art scene. Dedicated to strengthening the local art industry, Saskia Fernando Gallery recently launched the #SupportLocalArt: The Talk Series, an online presentation of conversations about Sri Lankan art. Furthermore, the gallery has partnered with the Udayshanth Fernando Foundation, establishing the A4A Production Fund, a competitive grant providing financial and industry support to emerging artists. In addition, it has long developed cultural programming and events within the industry, including Pecha Kucha Talks and Ya Connect in collaboration with Hatch. Founded by Saskia Fernando, the gallery is the first to represent contemporary Sri Lankan art. It has showcased projects in London, Singapore, Dubai, Los Angeles and New Delhi. Located in the heart of Colombo, the gallery has a reputation for developing public access to the world of art.
