alexander levy, founded in 2012, has since established a platform for young inter-national artists. The gallery’s program focuses on conceptual positions that investigate perception, reflect on social structures and subversively take up scientific and political themes. All the while expanding on contemporary concept of art discourse. An essential part of the gallery is its commitment to enabling artists to undertake research- based expeditions and projects which are realised over long periods of time. The results of which are subsequently presented in the form of various media at the gallery space, which is often conceptually integrated and subjected to transformation. At the mark of the gallery’s tenth anniversary, it moved from Kreuzberg to Moabit in Berlin. The new gallery has allowed for a new scope in dimension of exhibitions, and to establish a permanent video room with a program parallel yet distinct from the gallery’s exhibitions, which includes guest artists. In the last years, the gallery has also exhibited historical positions, Daniel Spoerri, Meret Oppenheim and, most recently, Dieter Roth, in an exchange with Galerie LEVY Hamburg.
