Rayyane Tabet, Steel Rings, 2013. Installation view, rolled steel engraved with unique kilometre marker, longitude, latitude, and elevation location for each unique ring, 80 cm diameter, 10 cm deep, 6 mm thick. Courtesy of the artist & Sfeir-Semler Gallery Beirut/Hamburg.

Artist Rayyane Tabet and curator Ziba Ardalan will lead a tour of Tabet’s first major UK solo exhibition of sculptural installations at Parasol unit. Through his work Tabet investigates the relationship between history and memory. His creative process often begins with an ‘encounter’, which then unfolds into a story. For Tabet, stories have dimensions beyond the purely factual and often turn into surreal adventures, exploring both personal memories and collective histories.
