JANG Sumi’s participatory performance proposes an encounter between the individual body and the social phenomenon as a sensorial subject. The performer’s body exists as a medium in the process of embodiment. Various senses intra-act with each other, as the remnants of inner space-time and present stimuli of external space-time intertwine. The collective sensorial act shaped by the performer’s experience explores the process of forming a shared belief with the audience in a way unfamiliar to the cultural grammar of the place.
Jang Sumi’s performance takes place on Wednesday September 4, 4pm, and on Saturday September 7, 12pm.
Frieze LIVE 2024 is presented in partnership with DYAD, a private members’ club launching in the heart of Cheongdam in 2025.
