Collector Alice Tisch will be in dialogue with Ann Temkin, The Marie-Josée and Henry Kravis Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art. During the walk-through of her home, Mrs. Tisch will discuss her philosophy of living with art and take an in-depth look at many of the works of art on view. Installed with an intuitive sense of connection, these works date from the 1950s through today, span a broad range of styles and mediums, and include artists from the U.S. and abroad such as Agnes Martin, Ruth Asawa, Richard Pousette-Dart, and Luciano Fabro, among many others.
Alice Tisch engages in a variety of volunteer activities, with a special focus on arts, health and social services, and education. She serves on the Board and Executive Department of the Museum of Modern Art where she also chairs of the museum's Acquisitions Department of Architecture & Design.
Ann Temkin assumed the role of Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture in 2008, after joining The Museum of Modern Art in 2003 as Curator. During her tenure, Ms. Temkin has focused especially on the acquisitions program of the Department of Painting and Sculpture, and on reimagining the Museum’s collection galleries. Ms. Temkin is currently preparing an exhibition of the work of Donald Judd. Exhibitions she has organized or co-organized at MoMA include Picasso Sculpture (2015), Robert Gober: The Heart Is Not a Metaphor (2014), Jasper Johns: Regrets (2014); Ileana Sonnabend: Ambassador for the New (2013); Ellsworth Kelly: Chatham Series (2013).
Following the event BMW cars will be available to bring guests to Frieze New York.
