An in-conversation with London-based collector and actor Russell Tovey and artist Michael Craig-Martin, discussing Tovey's collection which includes works by Jamian Juliano-Villani, Tony Lewis, Torey Thornton, Jonas Wood, Shio Kusaka and Walter Price.
Russell Tovey, a British actor who has been collecting since early 2000s now focusing on emerging American based artists dealing with figurative abstraction and geometric abstraction. His collection also has a deep focus within historical Geometric abstraction, from artists like Carmen Herrera, Leon Polk Smith and Mary Corse.
Michael Craig Martin, an Irish-British contemporary conceptual artist and painter who is noted for fostering the Young British Artists, many of whom he taught. Currently an Emeritus Professor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths University of London. His most recent major exhibitions include Gallery Hyundai, Seoul (2017, 2012); Himalayas Museum, Shanghai, which toured to Hubei Museum of Art, Wuhan (2015); Serpentine, London (2015); Goss-Michael Foundation, Dallas (2015, 2010); Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (2014); Luther W. Brady Art Gallery, George Washington University, Washington D.C.
