"I always tell him: it doesn't matter how famous I become, he is the maker."
Ai Weiwei

World-renowned collector of Chinese contemporary art, Uli Sigg will share his long standing passion for championing artists whose work he has admired both inside and out of China for more than four decades. Since the late 1970’s the former businessman and Swiss Ambassador to China has gained unprecedented access to the Chinese art scene during a period in which art in China hadn’t at that time been acknowledged within the international art arena, until a surge in interest towards end of the 1990’s for the ubiquitous political pop art movement among others, began to emerge in the West.

For his talk at Asia House, Uli Sigg will speak about his mission for collecting Chinese art from the beginning as being, “(...) a mirror of Chinese art production, across time, and across media.” The talk will be accompanied by a slide presentation of selected works from the Sigg Collection and M+ Sigg Collection.

The event is now fully booked. If you would like to sign up to the waiting list, please email: juan.delara@asiahouse.co.uk
