The Breeder was founded in 2000 firstly as an art periodical and then as a gallery with a clear focus of building a bridge between the International Art community and the Athenian scene. It represents and collaborates with a select group of international mid career and emerging artists. The Breeder serves as a link connecting cultures, supporting deeper understanding and exchange, engaging the community and proving an active platform for ideas and ideals. In 2019, it launched The Breeder Open Studio, inviting artists to work onsite prior to their exhibitions and engage more directly with the public.
