Frittelli arte contemporanea, founded by Carlo and Simone Frittelli, opened its headquarters in the suburbs of Florence in 2006. After the experience of the Centro d’Arte Spaziotempo, a gallery set in a historic building that hosted numerous exhibitions of modern and contemporary art during the 1990s, the actual venue is located at the centre of an urban regeneration project that aims to interweave synergies with the local cultural and social context. The exhibition program is dedicated to the critical and philological survey of art in Italy from the 1950s to the present, to the relations between art and feminism and to solo shows of national and international historical artists.
The gallery also focuses on researching and archiving documents of the artistic history of the Florentine scene, and is home to the Archivio per l’Opera grafica di Pino Pascali and the Archivio Frittelli per l’Opera di Gianni Bertini.
