The founders of Parliament Gallery are driven by the desire to re-examine the function of the art gallery: by formulating new proposals to nourish the reception of the artwork and by giving visibility and voice to a new generation of French and international artists.
Parliament wishes to build a program that makes sense in the long term, a space for the circulation of ideas and collective reflection. Our exhibitions will be enriched by interludes: a program of workshops, conferences, exchanges with artists in which writers, philosophers, sociologists and representatives of museum and cultural institutions will be associated.
The program of exhibitions of emerging artists will be interspersed with occasional archival and retrospective exhibitions, to put into perspective the nature of contemporary creation and its transdisciplnary nature.
Parliament wishes to defend artists who find their expression in a strong practice, whether experimental—carried by a new generation of creators or—young French and international artists who are part of a more classic conceptual tradition of the history of art.
Painting has completely reinvented itself and we are committed to showing the medium independent of it "paratext".
Paris, in a context dominated by the idea of "rupture", and saturated by the phenomenon of competition from an offer that is not yet very diverse, in our eyes, represents an ideal place to launch this gallery project in 2020: it is the time to reinvent ourselves collectively.
