Garden was founded in 2016 by Zachary Korol-Gold and Britte Geijer in their Los Angeles home. Established with the goal of building community in Los Angeles, Garden’s curatorial vision focuses on exhibiting contemporary ecological art. In the context of our program, this term includes artists whose work incorporates natural motifs and imagery, addresses environmental themes, imagines possible futures, or questions the idea of nature itself. Ecological art is work that understands itself critically within the context of not only art but larger world (eco)systems.
In 2022, Garden will continue hosting curated group exhibitions and solo exhibitions, collaborating with and giving space to artists to create ambitious and rigorous work. Garden’s programming also includes frequent backyard performances, workshops, panels, discussions, and readings.
