Frieze is the world’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art, dedicated to artists, galleries, collectors and art lovers alike. A cornerstone of New York's cultural landscape since its founding in 1994, The Armory Show brings the world's leading international contemporary and modern art galleries to New York each year. The fair plays a leading role in the city's position as an important cultural capital through elevated presentations, thoughtful programming, curatorial leadership, meaningful institutional partnerships, and engaging public art activations.

The Armory Show, taking place September 6-8, 2024 with a VIP Preview September 5 at the Javits Center in New York City, and we are seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates for several positions. Starting part-time in lJuly and transitioning into full-time leading up to and during the fair, the position will end after the fair in mid-September. The roles each offer a diverse set of responsibilities, and valuable insights into the inner workings of one of the world’s largest and most prominent international art fairs.

We are currently recruiting Tour Desk Assistants for The Armory Show 2024. This position is public facing and involves scheduling tours, greeting clients, and answering questions pertaining to the Tours Programme at The Armory Show. Applicants should be fluent in English as well as personable and organized. Interest in and knowledge about contemporary art is desirable. You would need to have availability from 4th – 8th September inclusive.

 

Tour Desk Assistant

Job Description:

• Support the Tour Desk Coordinator and Tour Guides to ensure the smooth running of the tours

• Welcome guests and checking them into their tour

• Keep accurate records of attendees for each tour

• Set up audio equipment for the public tours in setting up microphones and transmitters

• Take payment for any new ticket sale that take place on site

• Run errands, as required

• Be an ambassador for Frieze
