Take a fresh look at the first Frieze Seoul through the lens of colour. From the rich pigments of medieval icons exhibited, to visitors’ strikingly bright fair outfits, colour was essential part of the fair experience.
For one gallery, colour underpins their whole presentation, deciding to paint the walls of their booth both echoing artist Tavares Strachan’s passion for space, and the colours of the flag of his native Bahamas. Another decided their booth should tell a whole mini art history through colour, starting from the middle ages and culminating in the varied natural shades of a Damien Hirst butterfly piece.
Founded in 1945, Noroo Paint & Coatings was the Official Paint Sponsor for the first edition of Frieze Seoul. To mark the occasion, they created a bespoke shade, uniquely conceived for the fair.
