‘Christine Sun Kim works in really fascinating ways with questions of sound and communication ... and all of it is woven through her deep, lived experience as a Deaf person…’

In this video, Jordan Carter, curator at New York’s Dia Art Foundation heads to the Whitney Musuem of American Art to meet curator Jennie Goldstein and explore ‘All Day All Night’, the current show from Christine Sun Kim. He discovers how the musical concept of a ‘ghost note’ relates to Kim being ghosted IRL and learns some ASL (American Sign Language), which has inspired the artist’s multifarious visual and conceptual forms of communication, on show throughout the exhibition.

‘Christine Sun Kim, All Day All Night’ is at the Whitney Museum of American Art until 6 July 2025.

Kim’s works will also be presented at Frieze New York by François Ghebaly gallery.
