Six to eight emerging filmmakers will be selected for a four-month program led by Ghetto Film School to produce individual short films
This initiative presented in partnership with FIFTH SEASON and critically-acclaimed Ghetto Film School offers a platform and development program to six to eight emerging filmmakers culminating at Frieze Los Angeles in February 2024 with two prizes – Jury Award and Audience Award.
Selected Fellows will participate in an intensive four-month program led by GFS to produce individual short films.
A jury comprised of leading figures in contemporary art and entertainment will select the Jury Award winner and the public will be able to cast their votes and nominate their winner for the Audience Award.
Eligibility
Creative duos and partnerships are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be 18-34 years old and reside in the greater Los Angeles area.
Six to eight fellows will be chosen based on initial applications. In the second phase, selected Fellows will be required to create a 3-4 minute narrative film based on a creative prompt.

Previous winners of the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award have been Silvia Lara in 2019, John Rizkallah and Jane Chow in 2021, Diante Singley and Adham Elnashai in 2022, Irene Gil-Ramon and Shandrea Evans in 2023.
