We meet artist Jang Sumi and her collective of dancers, during their performance for the new LIVE programme at Frieze Seoul 2024.

Taking place during the fair, Jang’s performance explores the encounter between the individual body and the ‘external forces of society’, in this instance, the fair audience.

Jang rejects external labels gender, social class and sexuality. She believes that the body, through continuous interactions with others, is in a constant state of flux. Through performance, she invites audiences to question ‘what is undefinable, individualized, and intuitive... expanding how we think about the body’.
