Help support Americans for the Arts Action Fund
Frieze New York is proud to partner this year with Americans for the Arts Action Fund to help save the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
The NEA is an independent agency of the United States federal government that offers support and funding for projects exhibiting artistic excellence. Over the past months, the NEA has made headlines due to President Trump's proposed budget, which would eliminate the NEA, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the Institute for Museum and Library Services. The Arts Action Fund has been building bipartisan support for the arts as well as delivering a unified message to Congress to reject this proposed budget.
Gearing up for our 6th edition in the city, Frieze New York is using our platform to take part in this important campaign.
We encourage all of our attendees, of any nationality, to both sign a Petition to the United States Congress and to make a contribution to the Arts Action Fund to help support their legislative efforts to ensure public arts funding is preserved in the United States. In addition, Frieze New York is committed to:
Providing iPads at the fair’s information desks for people to sign the petition, where #SAVEtheNEA stickers will also be available
Offering visitors the choice to make a contribution at any Frieze Point of Sales system at the fair and on the online ticket site
Frieze will match all ticket buyers' contributions to the Arts Action Fund
If you would like to join us in raising awareness of this issue in advance of and during Frieze Week, we invite you to re-post the image below on social media using the hashtag #SAVEtheNEA
The Americans for the Arts Action Fund is the largest national organization that mobilizes Americans in the fight for arts funding and arts education. The Arts Action Fund (AAF) is the largest national organization that mobilizes Americans in the fight for arts funding and arts education. Since its founding in 2004, an extra $200 million has been appropriated to arts related funding. The AAF is committed to making the case that the NEA makes our nation’s economy and communities better, transforms lives for the better, heals neighborhoods, improves education and learning, and is a tool for diplomacy, recovery, and discovery.
