Nicholas Weist is the founding director of the Shandaken Project, a community-supported residency program in the Catskill mountain range of New York State. Beginning in June 2012, the Shandaken Project will host artists, writers, and thinkers for intimate, intensive residencies that privilege process, experimentation, and research. Weist has organized group shows internationally and has written about contemporary art for publications including Art in America, Interview, and Whitewall.
