Frieze 91 New York: Studio Visit with Ivana Bašić

March, 2025
Brooklyn, New York

Following the opening of her latest exhibition Temptation of Being at Albion Jeune in London, Frieze 91 and the gallery are delighted to invite you to a studio visit with Brooklyn-based artist Ivana Bašić (b. 1986, Belgrade). This rare glimpse into Bašić's creative space offers the opportunity to witness firsthand the intricate processes behind the artist’s sculptural practice, which involves the manipulation of materials such as wax, white bronze, blown glass, copper, and stainless steel. Shaped by her early experiences in Yugoslavia, Bašić's sculptures delve into themes of metamorphosis and ontology, contemplating the potential for transformation when physical flight becomes impossible.
