Pace Gallery is honoured to present a never-before seen 2019 site-specific installation by James Turrell titled Aquarius, Medium Circle Glass. Influenced by the notion of pure feeling in pictorial art, Turrell’s work focuses on the dialectic between constructing light and painting with light, building on the sensorial experience of space, colour, and perception. These interactions continue to be the foundation for Turrell’s oeuvre. Turrell’s inspiration draws from astronomy, physics, architecture and theology.
