Please join us for a private tour with Korean artist Haneyl Choi. He will be leading us through his solo presentations Manner at Gallery 2 and P21, as well as his dual exhibition at Ilmin Museum of Art alongside Osang Gwon. Transportation will be provided from Frieze (Coex) to Gallery 2, Ilmin Museum of Art, and P21, consecutively.
Haneyl Choi (b. 1991) turns to vivid, idiosyncratic assemblage – mischievous juxtapositions of unlikely objects and pictures – as a means of thrusting open the contemporary state of sculpture, ambitiously fusing together the vast scope of postmodern art historical discourse and the young queer imagination. Choi received a BA in sculpture from Seoul National University in 2016 and an MFA from Korea National University of Arts in 2018, proceeding to garner several grants and awards for emerging artists from prestigious national institutions including the Seoul Museum of Art and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. His work has been honored in solo exhibitions at P21, Seoul; Arario Museum, Seoul; and Commonwealth and Council, LA; among others. He has also participated in group exhibitions at Gyeongnam Art Museum, Changwon; Asia Culture Center, Gwangju; Ilmin Museum of Art, Seoul; Platform-L, Seoul; National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Gwacheon; and Seoul Museum of Art; among others.
