The Hop (2023) is a large sculpture by artist Jyll Bradley presented by Pi Artworks, which will be included to this year’s edition of Frieze Sculpture, London’s largest free display of outdoor art, taking place from 20 September–29 October 2023 in The English Gardens of The Regent’s Park.
The Hop is a sculpture which resembles an ancient plant-growing structure – a hop garden – and a place. On selected Sundays throughout Frieze Sculpture, Bradley is inviting artists, creatives and community groups to present their work in The Hop. This may include (but is not limited to) performances, workshops, presentations, community gatherings and even picnics.
Frieze London is currently welcoming proposals for individuals and groups to contribute to The Hop. If you would like to propose an event activation, please submit your proposal by filling out this form by 21 September. Participation is free and we look to select between 3 – 12 proposals. Proposals will be reviewed and selected by Fatos Ustek, Curator, Frieze Sculpture, and artist Jyll Bradley. Successful applicants will be notified on a rolling basis between 18th September – 8th October. For more information please read our FAQs page and Terms and Conditions of participating.
The Hop will be activated on the following dates:
Sunday 24 September, 2pm–4pm
Sunday, 1 October, 2pm–4pm
Sunday, 8 October, 2pm–4pm
