Frieze is a media and events company with offices in London, New York and Berlin that comprises three publications, frieze magazine, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week; seven international art fairs, Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze LA, Frieze New York, Frieze Seoul, and the newly acquired fairs Expo Chicago and The Armory Show; and frieze.com – the definitive resource for contemporary art and culture, with digital subscription membership products and accompanying mobile app. In addition, we have a permanent exhibition space at No.9 Cork Street, a hub for visiting international galleries in the heart of Mayfair, London.
Frieze is part of IMG within the IMG Events and On Location division. IMG is a global leader in sports, fashion, events and media, a subsidiary of Endeavor, a global entertainment, sports and content company.
Frieze have recently acquired 2 art fairs, The Armory Show and Expo Chicago. As part of the corporate integration process we are now building a new website architecture that will enable a single CMS, accessible across the enlarged group, to manage content across 3 discrete brand websites. The responsive websites, to be built in react js on top of a headless CMS (Contentful) need to reflect 3 separate sets of brand guidelines whilst sharing certain commonalities as are required for efficient build and lifecycle management. This role joins the project at an early stage, taking the UX and design processes from the beginning through to the delivery of completed designs ready for build.
Deliverables include:
- Overall web design for the combined website build project
- Timely delivery of documents and other assets to maintain project timetable
- Strong, collaborative working process with Project Manager and Engineering team
- User journey mapping and documentation
- UX design and documentation
- Wireframe and component layout and specification
- Refreshed digital brand guidelines for fonts, colours, layout rules etc for each of the 3 brands
- Preferred deliverables are figma files as well as PSDs for high-res assets
- Preparing of additional collateral for internal stakeholder engagement sessions
- Taking requirements from internal stakeholders and managing their input
- Other design-related tasks as required from time to time
Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required:
- A comprehensive portfolio of websites which demonstrate the UX skills and visual composure and dynamism required for this role
- Experience in working collaboratively within a small team of developers, designeres, product and project managers
- Ability to deliver high quality and high fidelity deliverables (Figma files), but also to contribute to all stages of the project, in particular at the early stages to identify the first requirements for the design process
- Strong experience of consumer website design for premium and/or cultural brands
- Project experience working with Contentful of similar composable headless CMS
- Strong UX, user-centric research and stakeholder management skills
- Expertise in producing designs & other deliverables in Figma
- Working knowledge of Java Script and familiarity with React.js
- Excellent understanding of the key principles of delivery SEO-efficient website builds
This role has been classified as being engaged outside of IR35 therefore will be engaged on a self-employed basis at a rate of £350 per day for 6-months.
