Opening on 7 October until 22 October, Frieze's Mayfair gallery welcomes exhibitions from Kasmin (New York), blank (Cape Town), and Wilding Cran (Los Angeles), with various events taking place throughout Frieze week.
blank, based in Cape Town, presented 'Shadows over the bright and darkened lands of the earth', a solo exhibition by Zoë Paul.
Zoë Paul’s installations incorporate styles of picture making from across history - from ancient cave painting, Byzantine mosaic and classical Greek vases right through to the digital pixels that make up virtual reality. ‘Shadows over the bright and darkened lands of the earth’ is a series of three large-scale bead curtains made from handmade stoneware, terracotta, and porcelain, depicting the forms of three naked figures suspended in motion. Commissioned by MoMA for The Modern Window series, Paul’s work was presented at the Museum from September 2020 until July 2021.
