What makes a great space for art? Architect Jamie Fobert will talk about his firm’s major recent contributions to UK museum design at Frieze Academy’s Art & Architecture Conference at The Royal Institution next Tuesday 2 October at 2pm. Fobert’s projects include the extension to Tate St Ives, which was recently awarded the Art Fund’s annual Museum of the Year prize, a much acclaimed renovation of Cambridge’s Kettle’s Yard, and the planned £35.5-million transformation of the National Portrait Gallery in London. He will be in conversation with NPG Director, Dr Nicholas Cullinan.

The third edition of the Frieze Art & Architecture Conference looks at recent projects from architects around the world to consider how the form and function of cultural institutions are evolving, and presents long-term works by artists who are reassessing how and where we live.

Speakers include Shigeru Ban, Jamie Fobert, Richard Rogers, Christopher Kulendran Thomas, Ellen van Loon, Kulapat Yantrasast and Andrea Zittel.
