We love Woody's point of view on ordinary objects and his use of proportions. This piece reminds us of sitting by the phone and not wanting to miss that call… the days before you could take your phone with you.
Christine Sun Kim
Constant Debt , 2022
Charcoal on paper
$20,000
Presented by François Ghebaly, C3
We are in constant awe of how Christine's work challenges the representations of sound in our world, and how she so powerfully shares her experiences in a world that has operated without consideration of her community.
Lily Ludlow
Dora, 2021
$ 10,000
Presented by Canada, C1
We love how expressive Lily's work is, and how her techniques create an almost dimensional experience. We love her interpretation of the female form.
Every time we look at Marc's work, we close our eyes and imagine hearing him recount why he chose those words and what he was doing when he was listening to that artist.
Hank's work has always invited us into joining the conversation around race, gender, and identity and the generalizations that exist in popular culture. This work in particular makes us wonder about these two young Black boys and what they did or did not do.
Carol Lim and Humberto Leon opened Opening Ceremony in 2002.
