Frieze 91 Member Spotlight: Emmanuel Lawal

For this edition of Frieze 91 Member Spotlight we have Emmanuel Lawal our new committee member, founder of FORESTALGIA and co-founder of the duo AUDIOCOMINGSOON. In 2023, Emmanuel launched Forestalgia, his London based design studio with the objective to connect and communicate global communities through the lens of unique product offerings. Through his respected career in music and broadcasting paved by the cult podcast, The ACS Show, Emmanuel has served as an ambassador for a string of organisations and companies. For Emmanuel Lawal, the centre point to his life work are people.

1. Describe yourself in three words?

Deep, sporty and inquisitive.

2. What’s your proudest moment?

Seeing ideas come to life!

3. Art icon?

Ernest Eugene Barnes Jr. for so many reasons.

4. Hidden gem in your city?

Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, specifically at night, no better view.

5. Favourite restaurant?

The Dover (at the moment!) on Dover Street.

6. Song you can listen to on repeat?

Water No Get Enemy by Fela Kuti

7. Exhibition you’re excited to see (or have seen)?

8. A skill you’re working on mastering?

Cooking!

The Philippines has my heart.

Tate Modern in London always and forever.
