Strachan’s interdisciplinary, socially engaged practice asks us to consider our relationship with what is seen and unseen. He draws on both the resources and community of his birthplace, dividing his time between New York and Nassau in the Bahamas, where he has established the Bahamas Aerospace and Sea Exploration Center (BASEC), an art studio and a laboratory for scientific research.
For the past decade, Strachan has been creating 'The Encyclopedia of Invisibility', a compendium of some 15,000 entries telling stories of under-recognised and overlooked people, places, events, objects, concepts, and phenomena, based on the layout and logic of Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Perrotin is presenting a solo presentation of Strachan at Frieze Seoul 2022.
