This season’s roster sees a series of participating galleries from across the globe including Dastan Gallery (Tehran), G Gallery (Seoul), Jhaveri Contemporary (Mumbai), Galleri Opdahl (Stavanger) and Tiwani Contemporary (London & Lagos). March:
'With Tenderness' presented by Tiwani Contemporary & 'Appearances' by G Gallery
Tiwani Contemporary’s two-artist exhibition ‘With Tenderness’, opens the Spring season and features London-based painter Emma Prempeh, as well as introducing Haitian-American sculptor Abigail Lucien in their first UK show, which runs until 1 April. At the same time, from 9 – 25 March, G Gallery will show ‘Appearances’, the first UK solo exhibition of Korean artist Woo Hannah’s fabric sculptures and installations.
13–29 April:
'REALISM' presented by Dastan Gallery, a selection of Alice Frey works presented by Vendelmans & ‘FF Projects: Manifold’ by Faridah Folawiyo
The Tehran-based spaced Dastan Gallery will present a group exhibition featuring artists including Sina Shiri, Andisheh Avini, Mitra Farahani, Reza Aramesh, Y.Z. Kami and more, examining the tension between the idea of realism and the lived experiences of Iranians, specifically their endurance through recent civil and economic turmoil.
Showing alongside will be the highly anticipated second edition of curator Faridah Folawiyo’s ‘FF Projects: Manifold’, a group exhibition centering on the work of Black female artists from across the globe, including Turiya Adkins, Ayoade Bamgboye, Olukemi Lijadu, Rachel Marsil, Fadekemi Ogunsanya and Isabel Okoro and more.
Vendelmans is proud to present a selection of works by Belgian artist Alice Frey (1895-1981). The exhibition is the first solo-presentation of the artist’s work outside of continental Europe, and also marks the first exhibition dedicated solely to FREY in the last fifty years.
11–27 May:
Ali Kazim presented by Jhaveri Contemporary, Tom Howse and Jone Kvie with Galleri Opdahl, and Im Heung-soon presented by The Page Gallery
Concluding the season, from 11 – 27 May, Jhaveri Contemporary will show recent work by Pakistani artist Ali Kazim, following his recent solo exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, and Galleri Opdahl will exhibit the work of British painter Tom Howse and Norwegian sculptor and documenta 2022-participating artist Jone Kvie.
