A Place for Creative Voices

For the first Frieze Los Angeles, men’s and women’s fashion retailer MATCHESFASHION.COM recreates 5 Carlos Place, its flagship London townhouse, on the Paramount Backlot. The retail and broadcasting hub hosts a special series of talks and events with leading creative voices. Places are available on a first-come-first serve basis.

Thursday, February 14th

Women in The Arts with Liz Goldwyn
Join Liz Goldwyn, writer, filmmaker and founder of digital platform The Sex Ed as she hosts a discussion with panellists curator Essence Harden, photographer Genevieve Gaignard and artist Guadalupe Rosales, to discuss women in the arts.

Jenn Nkiru and Black Radical Imagination in Conversation
On the eve of the premier of her new film, Black To Techno (2019) (commissioned for Frieze x Gucci's Second Summer of Love series), artist and filmmaker Jenn Nkiru is joined by Jheanelle Brown and Darol Olu Kae, guest curators of the experimental film screening series Black Radical Imagination, for an expansive discussion of some of the film's themes and motifs.

Live Floral Installation with Eric Buterbaugh and Daniela Villegas
World-renowned floral designer Eric Buterbaugh creates a live floral installation for his friend and fine jeweller Daniela Villegas. Taking the form of a miniature garden inside a terrarium, the display will be dotted with Villegas’s elaborate nature-inspired jewels.
