For more than 25 years, Italian filmmakers Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi have made intensive documentary films about war and colonialism based on found footage. Contributing editor Barbara Casavecchia interviews the Milan-based duo, who are the subject of a recent retrospective at Centre Pompidou, and won the Golden Lion as participants of the Armenian Pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale.
